Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, March 09, 2024

Josh S

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from main peak Pangas. The waves were really fun today relative to what we’ve had on tap recently. I even dusted off the shortboard for today’s conditions!

Although nearly all of today’s surfers were sitting at the main peak, I definitely saw some fun waves at French Fries and even a few sneaky ones up at Spot X.

Jackson it the MVP of today’s surf report. It was pretty bright when I was shooting, so I didn’t realize until afterward that he was the guy catching all the waves out there.

Josh S

I like his relaxed style here. He’s checking his line downward and setting up for a good bottom turn.

Josh S

He put his coiled up speed to work with a long, drawn-out roundhouse cutback.

Josh S

This little grommet took the cake for the menehune division today haha! He gave this insider right a good slap!

A local fella that I think is from Gigante was out throwing some backside chop-hops and air reverses. The wind direction and waves were pretty conducive to practicing chop-hops.

Josh S

Jackson steadily “bringing it around town” on this right’s soft, open face.

Josh S

On the opposite end of the spectrum, this right threw him a steeper section so he adapted appropriately by setting his rail in harder in unison with more back foot pressure.

The barrels are still elusive out there… Kai told me that he got some keepers at Spot X early in the morning before I made it down to shoot.

Josh S

The chop-hopper from early rotating through a textbook backside air-revo.

Josh S

Harrison opted to challenge himself during this backside roundhouse by splashing up some water into his eyes with his trailing hand haha. I’m joking, this was not intentionally done for said purpose. His line taken during this carve was excellent though.

Ahhh another day in the life! Beautiful weather and really fun waves! A taste of what is to come when the real surf season arrives and the most GOATed wave in all of Nica, Colorados, returns.
