Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, February 26, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Monday evening’s surf report from Panga Drops / French Fries. The waves were pretty rough most of the day today, but the window right at sunset actually wasn’t too bad.

Josh S

This guy knows the Panga Drops tempo, roundhouse cutbacks on repeat!

Josh S

John was slashing the long rights rolling through between French Fries and main peak to bits.

Josh S

Props and respect to this guy on riding a performance shortboard in today’s smaller waves. He was pretty much alone in terms of performance gear this evening.

Josh S

You can contrast the difference in open face on this right compared to the left from the prior photo. The rights typically offer more opportunity than the lefts at Pangas (all peaks).

Josh S

The cool thing about the lefts is that they are easier to drop into, and they spit you out in more of a channel than the rights do.

Josh S

John trying to spray as many surfers behind the wave as possible haha. It’s like an AOE attack from a video game.

Josh S

Today’s water temp was notably cooler than this weekend. I hope to get out there for some waves tomorrow, but am fearful of the cold temperature haha.

Josh S

You can see how you can link together nice lines and combos on the longer rights of high-tide Pangas.

Josh S

Pivot off the trailing hand, as well as lead with one’s vision and lead hand.

Josh S

John keeping it smooth out there as per usual.

Josh S

To finish his session and today’s report John skipped through a nice floater. He cleaned house this evening and was an excellent surf model for today’s report haha! Tomorrow may be slightly better than today in terms of waves (fingers crossed). Anyways, hasta mañana.
