Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, February 25, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Sunday’s surf report from Spot X. The waves were definitely smaller today. It was inconsistent even at Spot X. There were a couple of good waves if you waited though.

Josh S

John was the first of the crusaders to hit the line up. He wasn’t playing around this morning. Raw power unleashed.

Josh S

John’s bottom turns have improved significantly recently. He’s doing an excellent job of coiling all the way up on his descent down the wave.

Josh S

I was expecting a larger fan of spray, but he still managed to fan his feathers a bit here.

Josh S

Roundhouse cutback or floss dance?

Josh S

The majority of the waves were pretty tiny today. Big boy John did well to hack a chunk of this wave out and complete the maneuver given how small and gutless most of the waves were out there.

Josh S

John had to make an emergency exit from the water, but Yuji and Koji subsequently picked up the torch.

Josh S

You know times are tough at Spot X when you see Yuji and Koji attacking the corners of tiny insiders instead of driving through hollow double-ups.

Josh S

The boys are light though, so it’s not so difficult for them to skip across the flat sections.

Josh S

Koji was disappointed with the conditions when he rolled up to surf, but he economized excellently during his short 20 minute session. I think he beat Yuji in terms of rail game today.

Josh S

Crack those lips Koji!

Josh S

Yuji weaved through the only tube of this morning (go figure that it was Yuji). He made it all the way to the end of this one, but then it clamped on him at the very end.

Josh S

It’s always when you start working your way in, that the perfect set finally rolls through… Well amigos that’s all for today. We’re all hoping for a little more size and consistency tomorrow. Thanks for checking in and have a good one.
