Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, February 16, 2024

Josh S

Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from main peak Pangas (again). The wind was a little bit lighter today relative to yesterday which made for some tolerable, fun surf.

Josh S

Smooth and solid mechanics with this young fella’s sequence of rotation during his roundhouse. Pangas (main peak) is truly a roundhouse wave.

Josh S

He even managed to find some tunnel vision on the inside section. Atta boy!

Josh S

Surfing in a speedo? Interesting decision, but hey whatever floats your boat! Maybe it’s meant to kill two birds with one stone. Ice bath (given the water temp) + surf session!

Josh S

BAM! The groms weren’t messing around this morning.

Josh S

Hybrid boards, as seen here, can be excellent boards for Pangas. They offer floatation to stroke into waves against the wind, while still providing some maneuverability.

(To Be a man) We must be swift as the coursing river (To Be a man) With all the force of a great typhoon (To Be a man) With all the strength of a raging fire Mysterious as the dark side of the moon XD

Josh S

Stoic form on this cruisey little right.

Josh S

It was both frosty and frothy out there haha. I think this is the same little guy who made the barrel yesterday.

Josh S

That closes today’s action! The waves were pretty fun today. Spot X turned on for a little in the afternoon, so I finally caught a decent window there. Tomorrow the wind will be lighter, so I think the waves will be better tomorrow!
