Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, December 28, 2020

Brian Scott

Hey there and welcome to the Monday, actually the last Monday surf report you’ll ever see again in 2020! So let’s see what the last Monday had to offer for this years finale of Lunes days of waves!

Brian Scott

I’m gonna have to give it a solid 7. Not because it was pumping out of control or firing on all cylinders like it would anytime between April through September but yes, it was actually really fun out there and we’re practically at the eve of the new year.

Brian Scott

That’s right folks…. December can and does look like this from season to season.

Today just happened to really start to fill in with all the traveling out of towner’s (including some nice fun groomed swell) and come Thursday, this place will be jam packed, literally every home, condo, casita and anywhere that accommodate humans will be occupied. Sadly most people won’t even realize how magical this place is really known for, like what’s right behind them in this photo.

Brian Scott

I hate to always be right, but this right is completely empty AND SUPER sick and drained perfectly unridden for a good 50 or 100 more yards before closing out on the beach.

The lefts were playful as well. Nico miles away from his concrete village jungle; but he knows perfectly well how to utilize one of his top home country’s best if not ultimate features of Nicaragua.

Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin was a Georgian revolutionary and Soviet politician who ruled the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953. During his years in power, he served as both General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union. This guy probably has no clue about any of that history, but his signature hand move to get as barreled as possible and the namesake for what it is; is ironic that he’s completely using the same name as the guy who I just shared a little history with you all today. Names are sometimes funny!

High 5’s for everyone across the boards, or in this case across the beach. Horseback riding may be one of the best social distance outdoor activities to do here!

Brian Scott

Never has the term “wrong place while it was the right time” been used more emotionally than a surfer who has sadly been in this position…. and yes, we’ve ALL BEEN THERE at some point in our surfing lives.

Brian Scott

It was a really good day for any board craft riders to be out, which was also why I gave today a solid high 7! John Gillem sliding on the complete opposite time of the day and with the sun to his back as opposed to his favorite early morning light.

Joe taking full advantage while posting up from his old place a little ways up the road.

Brian Scott

Shoots, EVERYONE was out there having a GREAT time!!!

Devon gilding right…..

While the wifey glides left. That right there is proper team spousal surfing 101 perfection!!!

Who let the dogs out…. ???? I really don’t know and I really don’t care. All I know is this made for a prefect ending shot for today.  Here’s to our last week of surf here in Nica Land for the crazy and never to be forgotten 2020! It’s been a heck of a year…… but it’s still not quite over.  I hope…. I really really hope whoever has the surf report on Thursday will find a well sized woman singing on the beach….. that will be the classic ending for 2020!!! Jajajajaja - See ya’ll mañana ~
