Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, December 05, 2009

Hey folks and welcome to the Saturday surf report from SW Nicaragua.  The waves were small again today and it's a good thing because the NSR Surf School had a big class of students today.  It was a perfect beach day with chest high waves, warm water and nice offshore breezes.  He headed out in the morning and took over one of our local beaches.  This is Ainslie, dropping in on a nice peak all to herself.

Every knows DLite is the best surf instructor in Nicaragua.  The NSR Surf School Guarantees that you WILL stand up!  This is DLite, going over the fundamentals on land before hitting the water.

After about 20 - 30 minutes of beach instruction, DLite leads his students down to the warm water to catch their first waves.  What a beautiful place to learn how to surf.

Each student at the NSR Surf School receives individual attention.  This is DLite, helping to identify the right wave to catch and giving a little push at just the right time.

Meanwhile, the water was alive today with all kinds of bait-fish, diving birds and sealife.  This is one of our local fisherman, trying to catch some dinner for his family.

At one point, Miguel looked down and saw this baby lobster in the water.  The photo is deceiving, this guy is only about 3 inches long.  ...almost eatin' size by Nicaragua standards!

Back at the NSR Surf School, the students were going off and catching some great rides.  Can't beat a wave like this for your first day surfing!

Here's a cool shot of Kate, who stood up on her very first wave!  Nice job Kate!

Marshal, Marshal, Marshal, stand up tall - you are on NSR!

Pancho made it out today and was stoked to have his SUP on these fun little waves.  It was a great day to go exploring around the beach and catch the little rollers.

How about this photo for your first ever day of surfing.  Everybody stands up with the NSR Surf School!

There were some fun little nugs coming in up the beach too.  It wasn't going off or anything, but it sure was fun.

By the end of the morning, the NSR Surf School was going off!  It looks like everybody was able to catch this wave!

Yeah guys!  Today was super fun.  Thanks for booking with the NSR Surf School!!!  We've actually got a new swell in the forecast for the next couple of days so we'll see what happens with that.  In the meantime, be sure to check back with NSR!

And today we have a special announcement to make - NSR's very own Roberto "Luche Libre" Garcia finally made it official and tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend "Luz".  The church cermony included a baptism of their youngest daughter and took place here in SJDS.  This is the newly married couple leaving the church.  Congrats Lucha and Luz!!!

The church ceremony was followed by a private party at one of our local restaurants.  The rum flowed late into the night while friends and family celebrated and danced the night away.  This is Roberto and his father Chololo and his brother Miguel.

Hey, isn't that Pedro and Chulin?  Who let these houlligans behind the bar?

And finally, you can not take a bad photo of Robeto's oldest daughter Dagne.  She was one of the ring bearers tonight and as usual, she was as cute as could be.  Please check back with us tomorrow!
