Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, November 29, 2009

Hi folks and welcome to the Sunday surf report from NSR.  It's the off-season, but we still have some really fun waves.  Today was running about chest high or so with some head-high sets.  The water was perfect and the wind was offshore all day long (as usual).  We are going to start things off with a couple of photos from our friend Mike up in the Popoyo area.  They scored some good waves today and sent in some killer shots.  This is Kim, dropping into a nice left-hander.  Looking good Kim!

The waves were small today, but they were still nice and hollow.  This is Brendan, looking for the green room on a nice little right.

This is a tricky wave to surf if you don't know it well.  The locals seem to have it wired and typically pick off the best set waves of the day.  This is Mario from Limon, showing off his local knowledge.  Special thanks to Mike for sending us these shots!  Be sure to check out Nica Waves if you are going to be in the Popoyo area!

Sometimes it's easy to forget how beautiful Nicaragua is.  On our way to and from San Juan Del Sur, we always drive past Lake Nicaragua and Isla Ometepe (two volcanos which rise from the lake to form an island).  It's a breathtaking sight and something you never get tired of seeing.  Today, I decided to stop and take a few shots.  This one is one of my favorites.  If you visit Nicaragua, Ometepe is a good side trip.  You get there by ferry and can hike to the top of either volcano!

Before I forget, we are going to be able to ship NSR Merchandise in time for Christmas this year.  If you've ever wanted to order some NSR swag, now's the time to do it!  Above is our most popular T-Shirt design, the Black Rasta T.  It also comes in Grey, Cafe and White.  If you want something, shoot us an email ([email protected]) and let us know!  We need to get orders in this week in order to be able to ship them.  To see the rest of our inventory, CLICK HERE!

Later on, we went to the beach in the afternoon when incoming tide, we don’t have not many people out there.  It was still fun, running about waist to chest high on sets with nice offshore winds and beautiful and sunny day.  Check out the lineup!!!

On the first shot of the day we have one of the many surfers that we had today in the lineup.  This is Samuel from Mexico catching one of the better waves of the day.  Check out the fun little face he has to work with!

Here we have “Pancho Sanchez” and his family, today they are decided walking around the beach having a good time and playing with his daughter Safari Lee.  Look how little she is!  Only 14 months and running straight into the ocean.

We had a few international surfers out there taking some good waves and enjoying a sunny day.  This is Tom from Canada he was catching some sets.  WHAMM!  Looks like Tom is taking out some aggression on one of today's bigger waves.

Here's a cool shot of the chicken shack, as the sun was starting to set on the Pacific.  It was a lazy Sunday evening at the beach today...just the way we like it.

There's no better place to be during sunset than in the water.  This is Tim from Venezuela taking one of the last waves of the day.

On the last shot of the day we have one of the many surfers that we had today.  This is Yamil walking at home after of long session.  Alright folks this all for today.  Please check back tomorrow us.
