Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, January 30, 2017

Good day to everybody out there tuning in to NSR’s daily surf report.  Today we had extreme offshore winds, with small waves on tap and the sun seemed brighter than ever!  Check out today’s surf update!

The wind was already howling when I checked the waves this morning, and nobody surfing in sight. There were a small handful of guys that paddled out this afternoon as the tide was on it’s way back in.

With a hat on to protect his face from the sun, this muchacho was ready for action. Ripping a little turn on the inside!

Luckily, Carlos was out there to help me get a few shots and show all the folks at home what can be done in these conditions! He’s got a unique style and is always fun to watch no matter the conditions!

Up at the NSR surf shop, the rack of boards for sale is looking pretty decent these days! I pulled out my favourite one, but all these shortboards are sweet! Come check the scene if you’re in need of a new tabla!

It’s always good to see the local homies show up! Lesther is the coolest cat on the beach always!

You can tell the wind was slowing these guys down a little when they took off on a right. Trying to get vertical on this frontside turn!

The break was shifty and peaks were popping up on the reef and off to the side as well! We are so fortunate to have such a nice wave park in our backyard!

Carlos hit this section and did a big backside 360! The wind sort of held him up in the air for some extended hang time!

Another beautiful day on the beach, soaking up the sun and the salty sea! I don’t see how it could be any windier tomorrow, but, we shall see! Check in on us tomorrow and we’ll be here with another update, with whatever comes our way! Enjoy yourselves out there my friends! This is Eric, signing off for today!
