Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, January 10, 2009

Hi and welcome to the Saturday surf report, this is Lucha Libre bringing you the action from out here at Playa Maderas.  Today we drove up to the beach hoping to score some small but fun waves and we did.  It was running about waist to chest high on sets, the winds were strong offshore and the water was chilly.  Check it out.

Tom “El Viejo Pelon” Eberly got out there and was able to catch a few of the better set waves today.  Here he is showing us how big his belly got during the holidays.

“El Codo” Lopez made it out to the beach on the big panga as well and he was having so much fun.  He’s been out of the action for a while because he has been working really hard at the happy house but today he had a chance to paddle out.

A few local rippers were part of the show today.  Here is caught on this shot Rodolfo “Calibilly” Zapata destroying this single left.  Watch out for this guy for the upcoming tournaments.

There were some unknown riders trying to do some stuff on the longboards.  Here is this guy walking straight to the nose.  That’s one of the advantage that you have when you don’t have a big belly.

“El Italiano Loco” was making some exercise at the beach today before he has to get back to town and get some work done.  Check him out riding this nice looking left.  He is enjoying a lot his last days down here in Nicaragua, surfing every single day.

On the last shot of the day we have Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro with a cool floater.  Alright folks, that’s all for today.  Please be sure to check us back out tomorrow.
