Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, October 20, 2023

Josh S

Happy Friday everyone! The morning window provided some fun sections and tubes at Colorados. Mid-tide was the call today.

Josh S

“So get your hands up high, and wave ‘em side to side.” This guy hammered down on his tail to chuck some spray and ride through the turn.

Josh S

The elusive river-mouth mysto left trying to lure us in. Don’t take the bait!

Josh S

Tuck ’n roll! There were some small, but makable barrels today. Tomorrow and Sunday are looking even bigger!

Josh S

Dana was working on her backhand attack this morning. She’s opting for the double deck-pad setup!

Josh S

Wohoah! She upped the ante on this second left. Preparing to ditch the fins out the back.

Josh S

Dani Cruche whipped out the back-side chop-hop helicopter spin. He got some impressive height here!

Josh S

This bodyboarder may have won the heat today. He came out of nowhere and blew up on everyone out there haha.

Josh S

There’s always a couple of beauties that get away :’(

Josh S

I told you the bodyboarder guy was a shredder! He’s on rail, rotating, and showing some serious power on this grab rail maneuver.

Josh S

Shane’s barrel riding approach is improving! He set himself up nicely here then stepped on the gas with a few good down the line pumps.

Josh S

Luca locked in on one of the better set waves I saw all morning. Charging buddy!

Josh S

Instead of aiming to spin all the way through this maneuver, the bodyboarder looked back down the line to finish his rotation early, with his primary focus here being on displacing as much water (spray) as possible.

Josh S

The bodyboarder was even darting through some tubes along with the standard shortboarders. I bet this guy was a contest competitor in the past, or perhaps still is, given how active he stays in the lineup.

Josh S

Another beautiful morning in paradise! The humidity was high this morning though, so most of the spectators jumped in the water to cool down. If you’ve got the time tomorrow morning it’s probably worth a look relatively early in the morning before the tide gets too drained closer to mid-day. I’ll see y’all tomorrow, have a good one!
