Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, October 11, 2023

Josh S

Hey everyone! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Colorados and a mysto peak up the beach (ssshh haha). Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. I wasn’t expecting the wind to stay favorable as long as it day today, but I’m thankful it surprised to the upside.

Josh S

Luca on a beautiful right, albeit a bit of a late drop (tricky takeoff).

Josh S

The surf was slightly bigger the past few days, so this guy may be stuck in barrel mode from the prior mornings haha.

Josh S

Now up to the mystery peak :) This backside rider was quite deep on this left wedge barrel and was able to muscle through the exit even though the exit chandelier-ed shut.

Josh S

It looked really fun and rippable at the mysto spot! I was kicking myself that I dilly-dallied and missed the favorable window there. This guy got upside down from wanting to blast this end section so hard.

Josh S

Here’s the same fella setting up with a near perfect bottom turn on this open right.

Josh S

SCHWAPPAH! He literally ripped the face off of this wave haha. He drove his hips and trailing arm ALL THE WAY through this turn achieving maximum power.

Josh S

Simon wiping off some speed with a cruisey lip-line tag. The texture of the waves at the mysto peak today reminded me of the Waco wave pool in Texas.

Josh S

If the wind had been completely offshore, some of these wedgey peaks would’ve been very hollow. This guy had a great approach on this wave, but unfortunately the barrel section ended up clamping and gobbling him up.

Josh S

The waves were quite consistent up at this peak too. A good number of riderless nuggets slid through.

Josh S

Woah, I know this guy got upside down earlier, but he torqued through this turn so hard that he even got inverted. He did an excellent job of transitioning from back-foot pressure to front-foot pressure which allowed his tail to release and slide out more.

Josh S

Get out there amigo! This was definitely the window while I was shooting (and probably just after). Tomorrow’s forecast looks like a carbon copy of today, so hopefully the wind surprises to the “good side” again. Thanks for checking in guys and have a good one.
