Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, August 24, 2017

What's up guys and gals?! This is Parker checking in for a late submission of today's action. We have a little bit of surf and a little bit of fishing to show you guys. Check it out!

Ok so the morning was fun: small, glassy, and plenty of peaks. By the afternoon, the onshores (thanks to Harvey) filled in. It looks like we will have one more day of abnormal weather then Nicaragua will go back to normal (just in time for the swell!!).

John Springfield was still on it and having fun! Actually, he was the star of today's surf section. Where were you today Josh?!

Go back to that previous photo. Did you notice the fins first? And how are the fins facing in this shot? To be honest, he spun the board around so fast that I didn't even have a chance to capture a shot mid spin... Good stuff Juan and we are looking forward to your competitive surf in the IPC 2nd Annual Softtop Competition.

For a guy who just started surfing, he's mastering the basics and will be shredding soon. Dale Juan!!

Sooooo what do we do when the surf isn't epic?!?! Keep scrolling to the next section but it starts with the letter "f" and ends in the letters "ish."

With the overnight onshores, warm clear blue water washed in. That means it's time to gather our dive gear and head offshore!! Yes, you read that right: onshores = offshore.

Ok Pancho, what's the plan?! Where are we going? Eric looks slightly eager to see what we are doing...

This is one of my favorite shots for this morning. Pancho Sanchez has been diving for a few years and is a stud. After peaking his head into some caves, he came across this stud. How are you going to cook that tasty pargo bro?!

BUT Stino swam up to the camera with a good sized pargo roquero!! Pancho didn't want to play nice...

Nice work Stino and way to have patience at 50ft below!! I know it isn't a wahoo but you landed a stud and it'll taste delicious.

We ended up doing pretty well: tons of pargo and mackeralas to feed our friends and family. The cooler full so it's time to grab some beers and do some cooking!

Hey uhhh Stino, can I get some lifestyle shots to show off for the ladies?!?! Thanks bro...

The rule is that the diver with the biggest fish gets only and all the glory on the report. However... I want to introduce my boy Eric. Eric has spent a lot of time in the area but he recently made the full time plunge here. He surfs really well (big waves, small waves, shortboard, longboard) and is an A+ dad for his boy Dylan. Congrats on some fish Eric and let's get you a barrel shot on the report soon.

Do you guys follow us on Instagram? We are on @surfnsr and @spearfishing_nicaragua so stay tuned to our stories, posts, and happenings in the area. You might see Eric getting introduced on there too (you've been warned ladies).

We dropped Stino off at Surfari Charters but we wanted one more photo with his fishy. Yeah Stinooooo!!! Somebody has to hold it down between you and Trinmon...

Ok damas and caballeros, it's time to wrap things up here. It's been a long day of diving with some work squeezed in there. As for now, I can't tell if I want ehh surf (and great diving) or pumping surf (and poor diving)... Y'all have a good rest of the week and we hope you guys have a relaxing weekend! Stay tuned for the swell next week amigos!!
