In case you have not already heard Nicaragua is experiencing mounting unrest triggered by planned changes to Social Security benefits and taxes. Demonstrations began last Wednesday and have been escalating since in many Nicaraguan cities. A ray of light came yesterday when the reversal of the unpopular Social Security changes that sparked the demonstrations was announced. We mourn together with our Nicaraguan community for the tragic loss of life over the last few days, at the same time we are hopeful that this is the beginning of a resolution to the unrest and that a national dialogue toward resolving the greater problems that face the country will commence soon. Join us in a prayer for peace, justice and democracy for Nicaragua.

Swell has backed way off today as we get a little break between swells. Waves were in the waist to chest high range and the wind is offshore. Beach breaks were the call today.

Even down days can offer a silver lining.

Smaller waves and lighter winds mean the fishermen gear up and get ready to make a living.

This spot tends to put the shine on even the smallest of days. The rocks in the back ground of this photo cause a rebound wedge that adds juice to even the most lackluster swells.

Going for that glide and enjoying a golden morning moment.

Mike jumped out there on a borrowed longboard today thinking there's no better board for these conditions.

Carl NSR

He left the leash behind saying it gets in the way of his cross-steppin'. We hear ya, but man be careful that log is heavy.

Carl NSR

Mike said, "nah brah, if I fall I'll just grab it". Well....

Carl NSR

....he did and he did.

Carl NSR

Way to back it up and be safe out there, Mike! See ya in the water.

Be well everyone! If you are struggling, may the universe grant you strength; and if you are at peace be grateful for the blessing.
