Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, January 31, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone. Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The wind was ripping today, but the swell finally started to show up at sunset. Not many surfers wanted anything to do with the wind I guess.

Josh S

It was a good day to stretch out, go for a jog, play some golf or pickle-ball, or get a lift in before the swell fills in more tomorrow.

Here’s an I-SPY question for you: Find a one meter square where you don’t see any wind chop haha.

Josh S

Even though it was windy, there were still a couple of barrels out there. Patience is necessary though!

Spot X showing a flicker of life. It wasn’t really working there today though.

Josh S

I came back a little later in the afternoon in the hopes of getting some photo content of actual surfers. Unfortunately, there were still basically no surfers out.

Josh S

There were two guys out, but they didn’t get many waves out there. In fact only one of the gentlemen got a wave in 15 minutes.

Josh S

And here it is! Cruising down the line on an insider left. One is better than none!

Josh S

Sets like this left began to roll through more and more consistently at sunset. I think tomorrow it could be on like Donkey Kong.

Woah! A pretty mental drainer up the beach at Villas Iguanas. It’s a mirage though, not real haha. Anyways, that wraps up today’s action. I expect the surf to be meaningfully better tomorrow and plenty of shredders out to document. Thanks for checking in and have a good one.
