Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, January 22, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! I have a very windy surf report coming your way from Panga Drops today. I’d say it was approaching victory at sea.

Josh S

Although the conditions were challenging today, there were a couple diamonds in the rough if you were patient and didn’t mind the whistling wind.

Josh S

I guess everyone was working or didn’t want anything to do with the wind today, so John is the sole star of today’s report. John is a good surfer and even he was struggling with the wind today. I like his fall form here haha. He got hung up on a few of his waves and turns today from the wind.

Josh S

Although the wind was vicious today the water color was amazing. Living up the reputation of the “Emerald Coast”.

Josh S

Bang! There you go Johnny. Way to belt it!

And another one to seal the deal.

Rights dominated the lineup today (at French Fries), but John managed to find one good left out there.

Josh S

Although the rights are longer than the lefts, the lefts have the advantage of smoother faces when it’s really windy as their faces are more protected from the wind and wind-chop.

Josh S

Scwapah! The surface water was so clear that you can even see John’s fins here.

Josh S

That wraps up today’s surf action. This surfer was one of the only challengers to hit the waves this morning. He’s getting some warm-up reps in on the preferred piece of equipment, especially with the wind, the trusty Wavestorm! Tomorrow looks like it’s going to be really windy again, but hopefully we catch a break when I wander down to shoot the report tomorrow. Thanks for stopping in and have a good one.
