Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, January 18, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Panga Drops, specifically the French Fries peak. John paddled out on a 9ft Wavestorm and dominated the lineup.

Josh S

Ahh! I think John might’ve missed a little barrel section here. Could you have squeezed in there?

Josh S

There were two little local Nica kids hippity-hopping through the line-up. A nice mini-snap from the mini-surfer.

Josh S

Decent body mechanics from Azulito on this crispy clean right-runner.

Josh S

There you go Azulito! That’s a better top-turn! He still counter-rotated though.

Josh S

John cruise or Juan Cruise?

Josh S

Switch jump! John leveraging the extra length and width of the 9ft board to work on his gimmicky tricks.

Josh S

And a regular footed floater to close the end-section.

Josh S

Little blue with his “GRRR” face in full effect here.

Josh S

Sometimes when the waves are small at French Fries, the best line on a longboard is simply cruising across.

Josh S

Low, toes, twist! Excellent body mechanics from John during this cutback. Check his line of sight, trailing hand touching the wave-face, and lead hand coming up and around to match his line of sight.

Josh S

Little Blue, what did I tell you about counter-rotating? Haha. Well John and Azulito were the stars of today’s report at French Fries. Tomorrow’s forecast looks like we’ll have lighter wind and a little more swell, so hopefully I can capture a few more shredders in action tomorrow. Thanks for checking in and have a good one.
