Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, January 15, 2024

Josh S

Hey everyone! Apologies for the brief hiatus. Josh back behind the lens for a while hopefully. Here’s Tuesday’s surf action from Panga Drops this evening.

Josh S

French Fries was the best peak that was breaking this evening. I was surprised to see how much the sand had shifted in the past few days I was away. I was also surprised to see how much size some of the sets had when they came through.

Mariana was one of the stars of today. She was sitting inside of everyone and picking off lots of waves.

Josh S

Mariana lifting up and underneath the inbound section for some tube time.

Robert also got one of the better waves of the evening. He opened up the ride with a quick check turn in the pocket.

Josh S

Now he’s putting his thinner rails at the back of this board to work with a solid bottom turn. Pretty good mechanics on display.

Josh S

Oooohhh Robert even looking for some tube time himself on this hollow little end section. He realized it was worth a glance, but not big enough to commit to though.

Josh S

Cool style from this surfer with his trailing hand, but I think his bottom turn would’ve been more functional had his stance been wider and he started to project upward with his lead hand earlier.

Josh S

Ah ha! Nearly snuck under the lip, but needed to lead that bottom turn a little earlier ;)

Josh S

Everyone loves a sunset surf! Especially at Panga Drops. The waves were pretty good, but I’d like to see the sand shift back out more toward French Fries outside peak so that there are more consistent rights. Anyways, tomorrow is forecasted to be similar and I’ll see y’all tomorrow!
