Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, December 30, 2006

Hello everyone and welcome to another Nicaragua surf report. The waves are a little smaller today. Given the holidays, though, the beach has been pretty busy. Despite, or maybe because of, the small waves everyone seemed to be having a good time. The wind, strong at times, was offshore all day. The water is still nice and warm.

Today was all about picking up the necessary speed for a final move as the waves closed out. Here is one local grom in mid-pump.

The waves picked up a bit in size as the tide got higher, providing enough juice for the young guys to boost a few airs.

The real excitement today happened when a local fisherman snagged this Rooster fish from his handline. He was in knee deep water close to the surf and needed help from a friend and his lobster hook to be sure the big Gallo didn't get away. We are looking forward to a forecasted bump in swell in the next few days. Stay posted.
