Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, December 29, 2006

We're back with the surf report after some Christmas celebrating. The forecasts have been calling it flat, but we've been finding some fun beach break peaks here and there. There is a stiff offshore wind today, making the waits between sets a little chilly. Still, plenty of fun little waves to be had today.

Here is one of the few lefts today. keith, down from Humboldt County, nabbed this one on his fun board. Not quite as hollow as the rights, the lefts had some fun workable faces.

It was definitely not big but the sets had good shape and the local groms were out in force. Here is a shot of the lineup - going right was the call today.

The holidays see many local families from all over the country make their way to the beach for a week of relaxation, BBQ, family time and of course riding their quads. I call this one double-half-pint-quad. These two were topping out at 40mph. Check the grimace and the sweet Mickey Mouse robe, that is bad to the bone.

Like I said the rights were working. Here is a young guy on one of the better ones testing out the theory of "if I just stick my head in the barrel, I can still call it a barrel, right?". --- Tito you know what I am talking about.

This spot breaks best on a higher tide. Today it was being surfed as the sun was going down well after the tide had pulled out, go figure. One guy out and fun little lefts peeling off the rocks, not a bad end to the day.
