Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, December 19, 2016

Hello everybody! This is Hotstick Hannahs welcoming you to today's NSR report. We woke up and had a fun morning surf so check it out!

There is still some decent energy (for the offseason) in the water. Here's what's going on in a nutshell: the size is similar, the interval is increasing, and the direction is changing.

If you haven't meet Phil, you're missing out!! He works guest services for Mark and Dave's and is one of the nicest guys here. Needless to say, he represents Germany very well.

Geil estillo bro!!! Yes, that's three languages in one sentences but his laid back mellow style calls for it.

The local boys returned from the competition in Maderas. We were stoked to help you guys out and proud to see how well you guys competed!!

Most of the locals took a layday to see family or take it easy. Lesther decided to stay out of (or above) the water too.

Ok stomp the landing bro... Show Kelly and JJF who can really throw the sickest airs...

Ahhhhh man sooooo close!! He fought it for a minute but couldn't stand back up. Almost there bro!!

If you like lefts, get ready for them!! Lots of lefts were rolling through the beach and more are likely to come.

Oliver Solis came over today to give Brodie family surf lessons. Check out a few of the shots!

Oliver was the instructor but Oliver is also the student. There aren't too many Olivers in Nicaragua but it seems as if every Oliver can shredd!!!! He stood up so many times that he might have forgotten about the epic fishing trip they had yesterday...

Oliver got the whole family out there! Here's what their schedule looks like today: early morning surf lessons, delicious breakfast cooked by Heyzel, day trip to San Juan, ziplining, $0.25 ice cream scoops, and making it back for sunset and dinner. I've had worse Mondays than that...

Thomas, the dad, was also out surfing. We are each still stoked on the conditions because a bad day in Nicaragua is a decent day for our homes on the East Coast. Keep your expectations low and you'll have plenty of fun!

Let's hear it for the dads though. They are the ones working their tails off to pay for an epic vacation down here. Next time the set wave comes, you know who deserves it...

Ok damas and caballeros, the Brodie family had a fun morning surfing and getting lessons. Thank you Oliver for helping them out and stoking them out! And thank you guys for tuning into today's report! Hasta en la manana mis amigos.
