Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, December 18, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Good Monday everyone! Welcome to a new week of the amazing NSR Surf Report. As Brian showed on the weekend at Colorado, the waves are small here at Santana too.

There were just a handful of surfers in the water, riding and sharing the little waves that came through.

The water is looking really nice, every day is getting clearer and clearer. If you don’t like surfing small waves then going snorkeling (or spearfishing) could be the best thing to do to enjoy the water.

Or if you are eager to get some barrels then you can go bodysurfing, here at Santana there were some really good long barrels.

Even though the waves were small everybody was having a great time… check out this party wave sequence! First shot, one guy riding a nice right.

Second shot, the guy in red joined the party.

A third guy got jealous of the two first guys because they were partying without him, so he jumped in, not realizing that the two guys left him alone right away.

But before he could get sad about it, another guy made him company… and everyone was happy!

Most of the waves were breaking very close to the sand so you would have to be quick, one or two turns before you ended up full of sand.

Once in a while a good set came through giving the opportunity for a nice little A-frame to develop.

This experienced surfer was enjoying the little waves with his funboard… don’t get him wrong, I’ve seen him ripping on big waves too.

The gusts of offshore winds during this season makes it hard to find good lines on small waves.

Looks like Santa will come on Christmas on a surfboard because there will be a good bump that will bring happiness and joy to everyone. Happy Holidays everyone!
