Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, December 17, 2009

Hi everybody, this is the NSR family bringing you all the action for this Thursday surf report.  Today we went to the beach in the morning at low tide, trying to score some good waves.  The waves were small but very fun running about waist to chest high on sets with nice offshore winds and the water was clear.  Check out the lineup!!!

On the first shot of the day we are going to start with Jeff from Costa Rica.  He was catching some good waves.  Check him out on this shot, cross-stepping  for the water camera on this beautiful right hander.

Today we had a few girl surfers trying to get a couple waves.  This is Claudia from the United States.  She is walking out of the water, tired after a long session.

The beach was empty when we arrived today.  Here we have Andrew from Hawaii, he was sitting alone and playing for a long time with his guitar.  It was cool to have some live music at the beach this morning!

Here we have one of the many international surfers that we had out.  Look at this guy trying to stand up on this small but fun, left hander.  You can see Lucha working hard on his “water technique” in the foreground.

On this shot we have for a second time the same guy on the same wave but closer because Roberto “Lucha” took this shot with the water camera.  Nice shot Hermano!

This is Patrick from the United States, dropping one of the better waves that he had today.  Check out the cool shot Roberto got with the water camera!

We only had one local in the line-up today!  This is “El Tuzo” taking advantage that lineup was not crowded.  Check him out with this beautiful air on this mini-sized wave.

Here we have for a second time “El Tuzo” trying to make this small barrel but it was difficult because now he is a little bit fat.  He has not surfed for 15 days because he dedicated more time with his new girlfriend.  He must be happy though, check out the look on his face!

This is the second day surfing for Jeff in San Juan del Sur.  He was killing the waves.  Here we caught a sequence of the classic “head-dip”.  You don’t see these everyday!

Shot #1, dropping the sweet right hander.

Shot #2, leaning in.

Shot#3, the classic head-dip.

Shot #4, the whip out.

Shot #5, clean and save my friend.

On the last shot of the day we have “Pancho Sanchez”.   Here he is posed for the NSR camera with a bright orange borrowed surfboard (thanks Jeff!).  Alright folks this is all for today.  Please check back tomorrow.
