Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, December 13, 2020

Brian Scott

Sunday funday surf report action from one of the best places to be for some of the best waves today here in beautiful and very warm Tola, Nicaragua. Although them December winds have kicked in to high gear, it was still a scorcher out there in the midday sun AND the waves were on fire!

Surfing is all about timing in more ways than most people comprehend. Today’s factor involved the tide. Carlos catching that quickly rising tide while the waves were still pulsing and hucking out some nice hearty barreling waves.

Brian Scott

Colin on the flip side to that right and seeing some serious tunnel vision in his very near future.

Brian Scott

Dario making it look more like a skatepark out there than it’s bigger and heavier sets. Still though, his surf n skate approach always makes for some pretty sick photo ops!

Brian Scott

With only about 5 or 6 people out the entire time I was shooting, there were a couple gals out there too mixing it up. Jenny being on of them. Nice wave chica!

Brian Scott

So earlier I mentioned a little something about timing. Word is hat is was even better a little earlier with the lower tide, which means I’ll have to adjust my schedule mañana.

Brian Scott

Carlos making it a pretty short but sweet little surf session. He got a bunch of fun waves all within under an hour I’d say.

So when one man leave’ith….. especially happily stoked on his surf session…..

Brian Scott

Two men enter….. although this is a rare capture that I’m sure most of you will find pretty unique. Yup, that’s both Mr. Chris Russell AND Señor Baldo, our other two amazing surf photographer / reporters just about to paddle out together while I take the shots from the beach. Come on guys…. no pressure! I’ve got my eye’s on YOU!!!!! jajajaja

Brian Scott

First up on one of the first waves right after paddling out, Chris slip sliding into a nice little PC nug on his day off

Brian Scott

Baldo going super big on this pretty nice sized floater. You have to know how impressive this actually is, as he’s coming off a pretty bad knee injury. What’s up with all the knee, feet, ankle and all around leg injuries this season? I’ve been sidelined for over a month now with one too. But sick move homie…. good to see you back in the water. I hope I can be out there again soon too!

Brian Scott

Just a glimpse into one of the many few drainers I was able to nab on camera before the high tide shut em down.

Brian Scott

Colin with the POWERHOUSE move of the day! Daaaayammm buddy…… and he’s got a hurt back too!!!! Another injured homie. I’d hate to see how more wrecked he would have killed that thing on his backhand if he was 100%!?!!?!!! Killer move brother!

Brian Scott

I think it’s only appropriate that I give you kind people the parting shot of my friend and Colin’s beautiful wife Natalia chilling poolside while her man surfs his brains out and the kiddos are probably over playing on the jungle gym. As Natalia says, simply by hand gesture…. Adios amigos and happy Sunday to you all ~
