Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, December 09, 2007

Pancho here with the Sunday surf report for SW Nicaragua. It's running head high on sets and the wind is offshore. We are just starting to pick up that big NW swell that hit Hawaii and California a couple of days ago and it's small, but solid. We spun out of here in the Dirty Sanchez to see what we could find...here's one of the shots we brought back with us!

We searched hard for a few hours and didn't find too much - except for this blow hole, which ERUPTED every time a wave hit it.

Later on, we headed up to Maderas which is known to pull in a N swell. It was a little crowded and a bit cold, but the waves didn't disappoint. Check out this guy, going right on a nice set wave.

Everybody is really enjoying this late season swell - especially the ladies who were charging out there today. It's usually not this big in December and we're all loving it!

How's this for a pretty wave?

Even Codo, coming off a whole week of surfing, was stoked to catch a few waves today. Here he is looking for the barrel on a little right hander.

Your perspective changes when you look back at the land from a boat. Here's a shot of the line-up at Maderas from the Dirty. So pretty...

Oscar "El Freaky" was out freaking up some waves today. This is his version of a layback snap.

Freaky again, freaking up a tube this time.

Here's another cool shot by Jairo who is really coming into his own as a photographer - Hey Dude! Check it out! You made it on NSR!

Ahhhhh, San Juan Del Sur on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Gotta love it! We're supposed to have some fun swell in the water for the next couple of days so please check back with us! Pancho out!
