Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, December 03, 2017

Brian Scott

Hey everyone, welcome back for todays cruisy Sunday Funday surf report. Brian, back reporting after a week off (special thanks to Baldo and Kevin for filling in for my days off!). Let’s see what we had out there for todays surf shall we?

Brian Scott

We currently have some smaller size surf, but still in the fun zone as you can see with this guy taking off on a nice little set wave right in front of our reconfigured beach club and beach. (*ed note - keep in mind the sand used to be where the top of the rock wall is. That’s a lot of sand that’s now/still missing - think sand bars!)

Brian Scott

A lot of people today were saying that we had “Trestles” like conditions.

Brian Scott

Based off of what I saw, I would have to agree. BUT lucky for us, we have summer like conditions year round. Not to mention our mega big south swells we get during our peak season; where this place turns unto a barrel fest!

Brian Scott

Everyday people down here, making their way to and from. What it is exactly, I’m not sure, but I prefer this kind of traffic.

Brian Scott

We had some unusual alien surfer type encounters today. Not sure how the light refracted this through my lens, but it sure does look trippy!

Brian Scott

Offshore’s are back. Bienvenidos Papagayos!!

Brian Scott

Costa Rica has never looked better as a backdrop.

Brian Scott

My buddy Tony Z had some work to attend to, but not before getting in a super fun Longboard session.

Brian Scott

Small is subjective to many things. but waves are waves and surfers are surfers…. so the debate is pretty short lived.

Brian Scott

Just another great day in this version of paradise here in Nica-Land.

Brian Scott

If one were to style on a 1-2 foot day, it should look like this!

Brian Scott

If one were to mind surf a 1-2 foot barrel, it would look like this.

Brian Scott

Gone surfing, be back later. Surfing truly knows no boundaries. I’ve always said, it’s like the modern day fountain of youth.

Brian Scott

Speaking of fountain of youth, how about Colin Eberly’s Larry Layback on this helpless little 1 foot closeout end section.

Brian Scott

He recently had a pretty severe rib injury.

Brian Scott

But most people would normally still be nursing said kind of injury.

Brian Scott

Instead, Mr. Colin, here is practically back to knew and ready for some legit swell. We might have to take a trip buddy. Our big waves are on siesta for a little bit, BUT rest assured, they’ll be back… OH, THEY’LL BE BACK!!!

Brian Scott

Some of the finer things in life down here in Nica-Land come in the form of this. All smiles and sandy with Nicaraguan style Aloha ~

Brian Scott

I have to give a big shout out to my amigo and one of the coolest guys I’ve met here in Nicaragua…. Junio Arzak. I’m bummed to see you leave, but I know your journey will be filled with lots of laughter and memorable good times and hopefully a place with just as good waves. Viaja seguro mi amigo!! Thanks for stopping by today to check out the report amigos. Here’s to a great week ahead! Hasta la próxima!~
