Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, November 02, 2020

Javier Baldovinos

Hello everyone, welcome to the first week of November in Nicaragua. So far it's not looking good because we have a massive hurricane Eta coming our way.

Javier Baldovinos

For the last couple of days all the Weather experts have been following the development of a Tropical Storm that in a matter of hours grew into a huge hurricane heading towards the North of the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.

The storm is expected to touch land tonight, and it's already creating a lot of rain throughout the whole country... and onshore and messy conditions here on the Southern Pacific coast of the country.

Today was a sunny morning but the weather started to change into a foggy, cloudy, dark enviroment.

I couldn't take photos in the morning because I was making sure all the houses we manage in Rancho Santana were secure and ready to hold the upcoming storm. They took down the palapas at the Iguana Beach Club to avoid the winds to rip them apart.

2020 keeps surprising us... Hurricane Eta has big chances of turning into a Cat 5 right before hitting Nicaragua. Definitely not what I expected for November.

Please pray for all the people that will get affected by this hurricane, they are evacuating big areas on the Caribbean coast and all along the risky areas for floods and landslides across the country.

Javier Baldovinos

We still don't know how this area will be affected, probably just a lot of rain for a few days... in the mean time, a quick Volleyball game to reduce stress before the rain starts.

Javier Baldovinos

Not much surfing today, and not much of a sunset either... we can only wait a few days for better conditions so we all can keep enjoying the surf that we all love. Take care everyone!
