Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, October 25, 2017

Javier Baldovinos

Hello NSR followers, welcome to Wednesday’s surf report. This is Baldo reporting this time from Colorado. We are having some not-so-nice weather here but there are plenty of waves to catch.

Javier Baldovinos

I came to Colorado to cover the Oakley Surf Shop Contest that was supposed to happen today but I guess because of the onshore conditions they decided to put a hold on it. That didn’t stop some of the surfers to paddle out to stretch the muscles.

I saw these guys passing by probably coming from Gigante beach looking for waves. They didn’t look too excited about it though.

Javier Baldovinos

After a few minutes looking at the wave’s quality they turned around and walked back towards Gigante looking all bummed out.

Javier Baldovinos

Or maybe they just got scared to get in the water after looking this guy’s surfboard. You know it could be Dangerous out there!

Javier Baldovinos

Mr. Danger was having a blast in this conditions. He is definitely used to onshore winds because he was showing his whole repertoire today.

Javier Baldovinos

The three wanders stopped again in front of the Club House and looked like they were trying to figure out what to do. “Should we go back to Gigante?”, “Should we stay here?” Poor guys, I don’t blame them!

Javier Baldovinos

Mr. Danger again, this time smacking the lip.

Javier Baldovinos

Now look at his “Plastic Army Guy” 360 move… he is good!

Javier Baldovinos

They finally decided to stay!!

Javier Baldovinos

Here they are getting ready to catch some waves. Sadly I didn’t stay long enough to take photos of them. Maybe next time you guys make a decision faster.

Javier Baldovinos

It’s a shame that all these guys came to Nicaragua to compete and didn’t find the standard Nicaragua offshore conditions.

Javier Baldovinos

For some of them, especially the younger ones, the conditions didn’t stop them to get in the water. These conditions are just a normal day back home.

Javier Baldovinos

Normal or not, these guys are good! That’s why they won their spot in the contest, right?

Javier Baldovinos

But the majority of the competitors stayed dry looking at the surf from their comfortable beachfront rentals provided by NSR.

Javier Baldovinos

All of the NSR rental properties are fully equipped with all the necessary amenities (pools, WiFi, A/C, etc.) for everyone to enjoy while not surfing right in front of their houses.

Javier Baldovinos

Well, let’s shrug off the bad conditions and let’s get in the water. It is what it is! Hopefully tomorrow we’ll have some report from the Oakley Surf Shop Contest... if they ever run it.

Javier Baldovinos

A great thing to do while having bad weather is to go for a nice walk on the beach with your better half (if she or he came with you instead of your friends).

Stay tune because the waves will be good again sooner or later. Saludos!
