Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, October 24, 2017

What’s up guys and gals?! This is Hotsticks logging in to show you some shots of surfers shredding. The waves are fun too so check it out.

Have you guys heard? Oakley is hosting a surf shop competition down here. So shops all around the States brought their teams to show off their talent and compete.

So, we have a lot of rippers in the water. If you don’t agree already, I think you will by the end of the report.

Or maybe by the end of this sequence. I haven’t been surfing for a really long time so watching the technical finesse and style was a pleasure.

Normally, October is a really mellow surf month (but nasty weather). I’m sure the locals were a little surprised to see the morning rush hour.

But maybe not? Oscar still sending it and showing everybody that he’ll still rip even if somebody else goes.

Most of this morning’s dropping tide were guys showing off incredible rail and air games. However, there were two barrels (that I saw).

Me: Yeah Lesther come on bro!! Tony Z: no Parker that’s Maycol!!!!

Yeah Maycol! Way to step up and stick one while everybody was watching. Keep surfing well hombre!

With the glassy winds, I think Oscar was only focused on his air game. He rides a barrel really well, shows off a solid rail game, and is working on tweaking his airs.

Tweaking them for sure.

Immediately after I shot his sequence, I popped back to see the next wave. To finish shooting the air, I missed the drop in but still captured a photo of barrel #2: Don Pedro slipping into a left nugget. I guess the locals will always get tubed regardless of how many heads are in the water.

The last couple of days have featured a really fun south swell. Now that it’s letting up, the peaks are opening up. Perfect timing because not a ton of waves slipped through untouched.

Of course I followed the right off the peak- I’m a regular footer!

I wanted to get a little closer to the action so I walked up to the white wash to snag a couple more shots. I bet the judges will have fun watching the contest tomorrow.

As for the weekend, we have another system developing off the coast. Actually, weirdly enough, there is one of the Pacific and Carribbean side so we are closely watching to see what happens. We see a storm is brewing but it doesn’t look anything like what happened almost three weeks ago.

But I suppose we’ll check it out as the time gets closer (so stay tuned too!). In the meantime, we are going to enjoy these glassy rippable conditions.

Ok damas and caballeros, we appreciate y’all checking out today’s report! Stay tuned to see what Oakley does tomorrow and to see more guys shredding. Nos vemos amigos!!
