Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, October 22, 2017

Brian Scott

Hey there surfistas! Welcome back for the Sunday surf report. Had another great day of surfing. Drop in and check it out!

Brian Scott

The swell that came in yesterday was still holding, although I would to rate yesterdays session EPIC compared to todays which was GOOD and still fun, just not as consistent and peaky.

Brian Scott

Still a lot of barrels to be had out there. Lots of rights….

Brian Scott

…. and lefts.

Brian Scott

Just choose the sand bar you want to sit on and score all afternoon.

Brian Scott

I did notice a theme with todays shots.

Brian Scott

But first check out this empty draining nugget. I saw quite a few of these go by unridden.

Brian Scott

Especially up at the reef. I didn’t see anyone surfing up that way (at least while I was shooting).

Brian Scott

Parker in pig dog heaven. So back to what I was saying, I started to notice almost everyone out was pretty much going against the grain… be it, the grain of their natural stance that is.

Brian Scott

Pig DOGGGGER

Brian Scott

Here’a another.

Brian Scott

Gray, pigdoggin (as well), and ridiculously deep on this one. I had turned juts in time to see him pulling into this thing; and it ran for quite a few seconds, while he was completely covered up.

Brian Scott

Definitely the wave of the day that Tony, D-Lite and I all three witnessed right then and there. Sick one Gray!!

Brian Scott

Well, ok maybe even one more witness to add to that.. Did you see that, amigo??

Brian Scott

The sun was out (for the most part) and it was guaranteed a really nice Sunday beach day for everyone who came down.

Brian Scott

Austin Smith Ford is back down in Nica-Land getting ready for the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge. I’ve got my money on him since he was just here not too long ago (for quite while too in fact) and he pretty much has this place dialed in.

Brian Scott

The talent is starting to arrive and they’re pretty frothing on this wave already.

Brian Scott

But that didn’t stop any of the local boys to get out there and show them a thing or two about this wave.

Brian Scott

Not a bad place to hold a contest, I just hope the weather doesn’t get whacky!!

Brian Scott

Chocoyo, local ripper and tube hound aficionado.

Brian Scott

HotStickHannah’s, wasn’t about to leave his cheese out in the wind. He would rather shred the queso… and what a fine job he’s doing here too!

Brian Scott

I really hope the waves, wind and weather come together the next few days. Would be cool to see everybody killing it out here this week.

Brian Scott

Dreamy Nicaragua, in October. It’s not an illusion.... Or is it??

Brian Scott

Parker got his shred on, now I guess it’s time for real work. Dale buddy!

Brian Scott

YOU ALL READY FOR THIS??? Oscar sure is!! Show em how it’s done Hermano.

Brian Scott

So that’s a wrap, at least for today. Pop on by this week to see how that contest will be going. We’ll be here to show you photos and updates with hopefully some really sick surfing all the competitors will be brining down with their bag of tricks. Until then, hasta pronto ~
