I started out by checking it early on in the AM, but it just wasn’t doing anything.. so I opted for waiting until a little later and a little more water.

I hustled over to the beach club to seeing it looking like mini pipe out there! Crystal aqua blue water, light offshore if any wind, and people getting shacked off their melons! Ohhhh and P.s. It’s October btw - the off season; but it looks just like it would be May, June or July out there right now.

Doesn’t really matter what time of year. This place can and is (like today) showing all the signs of one of the best beach breaks in Latin America.

The sand bars have been everything perfect for the past couple of swells.

Phi Lou and Rutci didn’t let the relief efforts stop on the sand… here they share a big jacking peak off the river-mouth left. Sharing is caring right amigos? (haha).

Tide was getting a little fuller, but the swell was still good and some of the lips on these things were pretty legit!

They were definitely fast… but I counted just as many exits as I did non-makable ones, and the ones who came out were mega deep on these fun little runners!

Some were just that… gun it and make the whole barrel section if you can. Others were perfectly tapered Tee-Pee A-Frames with barrel takeoffs with big bash sections at the end.

You could really tell where the sand has built up where the river mouth is. It’s almost like everyone who took off too deep down that way was exactly that… too deep. but these things were roping today. Not closing out super fast. But you for sure wanted some gas in the tank, just in case!

JS making water displacement regular part of his surfing repertoire. I think that’s got to be one of the biggest fin slashes I’ve ever seen at this break.

The flip side (and I feel for this guy - and his poor board) remember the dude I said a few slides back that I wanted to give my new amigo a few shots (for good reason) You’ll soon see! Well, RIP nice green Lost SB. The best part is he said it was all WELL WORTH IT! And that makes it a GREAT day!!
