Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, October 20, 2016

Que tal primos?! Welcome to the surf report for southern Nicaragua with Parker. Conditions improved so click "read more!"

It's been a rough week of surf with small weak waves and onshore winds. However, a new swell arrived today so we were happy to get a fun session in.

There were zero winds for the early morning session but the onshores started howling around lunch. Before that, a few tubes rolled through.

Carlos Perez is one of the best barrel riders here. Keep checking out why!

Last week, I watched him catch two freight train rights all the way to the beach. During the 5+ second barrel, he was steezed out and cheesed out.

He has the best claim: a huge smile. Nice wave, Carlos!

David Barr made the morning session. With a bottom turn like that, something big must be coming...

Bammm!!! David is sending more rain to us- as if we didn't already receive a dumping yesterday.

Our very own, Armando "El Codo" Lopez woke up early for the session. We love to get him on the other side of the lens.

When your calves are the size of watermelons and your biceps are concrete pillars, you can expect some powerful surfing from this guy. I'd still win arm wrestling though...

Today was deceptively heavy. Decent swell, low tide, and late take offs... tenga cuidado!!

Check out that photo a little more closely. Do you see the brown water trickling out? We've had some much rain that the rivers are starting to break open. Send more Mother Nature!!

Another one of the best barrel riders: Lesther Espinoza. Keep scrolling down for the evidence.

With that clean blue water, how's the view in there buddy???

Another day, another barrel. Yeah hermano!!

Tyler Cooper is spending the month here from California. Let's see if he or this rude wave wins...

Yeww!! Sick layback bro! It's been awesome having you here amigo.

Today was filled with rights but Mike Doan picked off the lefts. Let's see how he breaks in the new Rusty sled.

Yeah Mike! Great to see you again hombre.

Carlos also kills it backside. Maybe he's always smiling becuase he gets the best waves and shows off the best tricks.

The best feeling is seeing the approaching section and setting up for it. Not that any waves ever close out in NICA..........

Ok damas and caballeros, we had a fun session until the winds switched. Thank you for checking out today's reports. Hotstick Hannahs is out!!
