Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, October 17, 2021

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday Funday…. and indeed what a fun day of waves we had today too! Back to the glassy semi light offshore winds and super fun 3-5 + sized swell in the water, makes for one excellent way to exit the weekend!

Casey from Rhode Island came a long way to not only surf in board shorts, but taste some of Nicaragua’s finest nectars. Too bad it was his last day today, but I am 100% sure he’ll be back!

2021 still delivering, even into our very unpredictable October.

The morning’s have been full on sunshine and big white puffy clouds just as the sun rises. And today was a real heater too! Super hot without those nice cool offshore breezes.

Brian Scott

But as you can see just by the texture of the water here AND obviously the size we had today were both a really nice delight!

Almost sheet glass on them morning A-Frames!

Mr. Baldo has retired from writing up some of the best reports we’ve had for a long time, but looks like he’s putting in more time in front of the lens now than behind it.

Not sure who this kid is, but it got me a bit jealous, as I would have loved to be out there and in this same position…. it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten to do that. I think it’s time to get back to my roots.

There’s coming out of spitting barrel, and then there this….?!?!?! It’s definitely unique and I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone coming out of a backwash barrel?

Brian Scott

Retro rockets, fishes, fun-boards, long boards, traditional shortboards. Whatever you chose for your arsenal today, you couldn’t have been wrong. The waves were perfect for everything out there.

Ooops Grant dropped his wallet. But that’s ok, cordobas float! (I think?) jaja

See how quickly things can change, ESPECIALLY when it’s October. It was full on sunny and gorgeous out and this inland rain squall just showed up out of nowhere. Looks like a completely different day, right?

Brian Scott

But no matter how much rain this place can throw at you, it’s still aways sunny! Happy and Sunny! Thanks for peeping in on todays surf report. I’ll see you back out there tomorrow. Cheers ~
