Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, October 17, 2019

Carl NSR

Hello everyone! It's another gorgeous and quiet off season morning down here in Nica. The waves were a hair smaller than yesterday, the swell a little disorganized, but still lots of fun. Once again the crowd was super light and the wind was variable-offshore all day. Enjoy!

Little shoulder to head high drainers came through tempting the few takers who showed up to the beach today.

Carl NSR

Speaking of takers, the brothers Espinoza rolled up just as the tide started to drain out.

Carl NSR

There's been a little funky texture on the ocean due to how close the storm that produced this swell has been. Still it's far enough away to leave us two days in a row of sunny skies and we'll take these conditions in the off season any day.

Once again Oscar Espinoza was among the first to be on it. Here he is with a little blank canvas.

Carl NSR

And he decided to decorate it with a little layback style.

Carl NSR

Jayson was on it too. Always love watching this kid surf.

Carl NSR

He's got style for days and a relaxed approach. Plus he's always smiling.

Carl NSR

Buzz got in on the action as well. He came in soon after this wave, stoked on the vibes, throwing shakas!

Carl NSR

These seats are usually full all day, but no peanut gallery these days.

Carl NSR

Not many barrels today but there were definitely plenty of rippable head high peaks.

It's super quiet in Iguana in October, but our shop is always open, so if you're here and need some gear we got you covered. Or just swing by to say hello. Julio is always down to talk story.

Carl NSR

Speaking of gear, this is my current favorite item in the shop. They're called the sofa short and they are the most comfortable pair of loungy shorts I own.

Carl NSR

Alright everyone, stay safe out there. Looks like more good conditions tomorrow.
