Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, October 16, 2008

Hello and thank you for joining us once again for the Thursday surf report.  It has been raining all day long.  We had a break in the weather just long enough to run down to the bay and take a couple of pictures.  The waves were running waist to chest high with onshore winds and the water is getting dirtier with the continued rain.

While we were taking a shot down at the bay we saw this guy walking on the sewer line crossing the river.  We watched in amazement thinking he was going to fall at any minute.  In the end he made it.

We took this shot out in front of our house to show you how much water has accumulated in the streets.  The storm drains are about five feet deep and they were almost full this morning.  We are hoping this storm clears because we are supposed to have offshore winds on Sunday.

We have been searching in our archives and found some great shots.  In early summer we had a surprise visit from two of the best surfers in the world.  ASP World Tour veterans Damien Hobgood and Tim Reyes.

You always see them in videos but to watch them first hand is something special.  They have so much board control that it seems that they can do anything they want on each and every wave.  We had so many pictures to choose from but these were two of our favorites.  That’s all for today, please check back with us tomorrow.
