Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, October 14, 2017

Brian Scott

Hey weekend surf fans, welcome to the Saturday surf report. SBS here checking in with some mighty fun surf from beautiful southern Nicaragua.  Check it out!

Brian Scott

There were little A-frames all over the playa today. The winds were blowing light off shore and only a couple people out at this spot.

Brian Scott

Here’s one of them. Good to see my buddy Turbo back. He’s been going non-stop helping deliver relief necessities to his fellow Nicaragüense people. Good to see you made some time for some surf Hermano!

Brian Scott

Seemed like all the action was down the way, so I decided to mozy on over other to check it out…

Brian Scott

Looks pretty good what do you think??? I wonder what this guys pondering in his thoughts right about now?

Brian Scott

Tony Z is another friends of mine who has been putting in some serious hours helping with the relief crew as well.

Brian Scott

He’s getting in some munch needed and deserved surf today.

Brian Scott

I see he’s still hard at work (even when he’s surfing) trying feverishly to get some water over to Astillero. Buckets TZ, buckets!~

Brian Scott

I don’t think I have any shots from today that really will show the real volume of people out surfing this late afternoon, but let's just say there were quite a bit of folks in the water. I think possibly the most I’ve ever seen in October, even. This guy had put all he had into this wave since it looked like you had to be pretty selective out there.

Brian Scott

Josh’s wave count is always high, no matter his session. That’s because he’s stealthy and he puts in a lot of time at this wave. Local knowledge gets you waves like this, isn’t that right buddy?!

Brian Scott

There were a couple locals out. But not as many as I thought. They must have gotten the really good midday surf in.

Brian Scott

Not a local kid, but was ripping like one.

Brian Scott

Local really BIG kid, Parker showing some steez on his turns on this little right. Nice form HotStick!

Brian Scott

Even the seasoned groms were out there throwing down some pretty sick maneuvers.

Brian Scott

I was watching my buddy Adam carry these concrete blocks up one by one after another and couldn’t figure what he was doing exactly? I thought he was doing some gnarly off-surf training regimen. Turns out he was surfing and saw a bunch of these just inside of the lineup in the shallows. He was removing them so someone wouldn’t ding there shin, or their head. These obviously made it out to the lineup from the big storm we just had.

Brian Scott

Hey Adam, I think I might have found the culprit of where these might have come from?

Brian Scott

I guess there’s pros and cons to having your house RIGHT on the beach. I’m gonna say the pros still outweigh the cons. That is unless we ever get a Category 5 hurricane here.

Brian Scott

I bet this surfer is stoked he decided to come in the off season.

Brian Scott

Adam stalling and hoping for this thing to cover him up!

Brian Scott

Right or left, which do you prefer?

Brian Scott

The sun was setting and the magic hour was making for some beautiful lighting while I was playing with some fun slowed down shutter speeds.

Brian Scott

Fun little speed blur turn.

Brian Scott

This guys expression pretty much sums it all up. STOKED!!! ~

Brian Scott

Well, it’s another day, another sunset, another surf session. But they’re all different and unique in their own special way. Thanks for sharing your time with me and hope to see you all back here mañana! Sunday Funday!! Yiippeeeee ~
