Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, October 09, 2008

Hi folks, this is Lucha Libre bringing you the Thursday surf report.  It rained a lot last night, so we are guessing the roads to the spots around town are still pretty bad.  We went to check out how the waves were out front at the bay but there weren’t many people out, just two local kids.  It was running about waist to chest high on sets and the wind is still blowing ONSHORE.

One of the two kids out there was Pedro “El Cacaste” Florez who has been practicing a lot lately on every kind of wave that it’s been coming though expecting to be in good form for the upcoming contest next year.  Here he is caught getting some speed on a nice looking wave.

We guess many people are waiting for the final result of the basketball game we had last night between Jairo’s team and my team.  We had a pretty tight game and after more than 40 minutes Jairo’s team got the victory by 4 points.  Check out Jairo, so proud to beat my team for first time in the league.  After the game Jairo told me, there will be another chance little buddy so if you want to look like me keep working on your muscles!!!

Today we want to give a special shoot out to our good friend Erica “La Chilindrina” Cahn who was living down here for a while, so we decided to do an interview with her on her last day in town.  These are her own words:  I am 18 years old and I’ve been in Nicaragua for the last 2 months and I am so incredibly attached to this place.  Nicaragua is truly a special country, the people, the culture, the surf and el gallo pinto will stay with me forever.  I’ve made friends and had amazing experiences that I will cherish as well.  The NSR boys are greats, my goodness I will miss you all!!!

We are really getting bored so today we decided to take a huge nap until will get OFFSHORE wind.  There will be tomorrow, god willing.  We are hoping to get some waves with perfect conditions during this weekend so be sure to check us back again.
