Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, October 08, 2008

We've got a HUGE announcement to make today.  We'd like you all to meet the newest member of the NSR family - our beautiful daughter "Safari Lee".  She was born on October 1, 2008 and weighed in at 6lbs 11oz.  Hands down, it was the most amazing experience of our lives and we couldn't be more excited about being parents.  Here is a shot of Heather and I, minutes after the delivery (how awesome does Mom look after 14 hours of labor?!!)  WELCOME TO THE WORLD SAFARI!

Welcome to the Wednesday surf report.  Today the waves were small but the form was decent.  The surf was running about knee to stomach high and the water was clear.  Here is a water shot of the line up in the bay.

We decided today that we were going to get Lucha ready for next year because we want to see him out with us in the big surf that we are expecting to have next season.  So we dragged out in the bay with us on the big panga.  Needless to say it was hysterical, but he actually did great and caught a couple of good waves.  We were very proud.

Here is a shot of one of the local kids catching one of the better set waves that came through.  The younger guys like this time of the year because the waves are generally smaller and it is easier for them to get out there and catch their share of waves.

This is a shot of our very own Jairo and D-lite trying to do some tandem surfing.  They never really got it figured out but we think with a little bit more practice they will be ready for competition.  When the waves aren’t that great you have to do something to have some fun.
