Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, September 28, 2020

Brian Scott

Welcome amigos to your Monday surf report.  I have some really good news for you surf fans…. remember that swell that I was telling you about that’s coming this week? Well it just so happened to come in early today and todays evening session saw some pretty RAD indications for what we’re in store for potentially over the next few days. So strap in and get ready for a little tasty treat!!!!

Brian Scott

Ohhh and might I add…. the light show was pretty amazing too!!!

Brian Scott

This is exactly what I saw when I arrived to the playa for the PM session. I heard earlier on that the swell was already showing signs, but it looked a little unorganized and even a little bit hairball out there with some unruly rips and a tad of inconsistency.

Brian Scott

But that being said, for those of us that know this place, know when a good thing is knocking on our front door! Stoke level shining BRiGHT!!!!!!

Brian Scott

So, I’m not going to sugar coat todays surf report. I’m just gonna lay it out there. Basically out of all the shots I took in that 45 min to one hour window, there was this one set that came through and well….. I’ll let the photos do pretty much the most of the talking. Jackson here on the first wave of the BEST set of the afternoon.

Brian Scott

It doesn’t take much for our seasoned surfers here to stop anyone in their tracks who’s watching from the beach to pause and look up and see what they’re gonna do when a really goods set starts making humps on the horizon.

Brian Scott

The disappearing act here is pretty common.

Brian Scott

Getting spit out… well, that’s what we all LOVE to see every time this place turns on!

Brian Scott

Next up and the very next wave of the same set, here’s Mr. Josh nabbing the more favorable right of this second pulsing dredger.

Brian Scott

You can always show up and blow up, but it’s the local knowledge that will always win at this famed wave.

Brian Scott

Josh with his favorite PM view when he’s not spiking a volleyball off of peoples foreheads.

Brian Scott

I was just kidding about that last part. Josh is actually a really respectable and nice guy. He’ll just spike the volleyball over ya and right in the sweet spot where he knows his opponents won't think he’ll getcha!

Brian Scott

Kinda like how he knows this wave.  And more times than not, he’s gonna score the point!

Brian Scott

Whether it’s eating sand on the court or eating sand on a low tide mutant wave, Josh always gives everything his all! Sick Doggy Door exit on that one buddy!!!

Brian Scott

Last up, but not least, Jeynner with the wave of the day (only because it was the biggest) and the 3rd and gnarliest wave of the this crazy triple set. Check out that super late paddle in take off.

Brian Scott

This thing grew and grew… which is a very very good indication for what we may see over the next couple days!

Brian Scott

Just by looking at this thing from a 2 dimensional angle, I can certainly tell how square this thing is.

Brian Scott

I bet Josh (who’s on the inside from that last sequence) is thinking the same exact thing!!!

Brian Scott

Look folks…… we’ve got a spitter! AND how’s that style with the arms thrown back behind his back from Jeynner!!! FREAKING SO SICK BRO!!!!!!

Brian Scott

Another doggy door perfectly navigated and one of the sickest sets of waves to come through in maybe all of September. OHHHH Man, I cannot wait for tomorrow!!!!!

Brian Scott

Now we must lay our eyes and bodies to rest as we must be up at the crack of dawn to see what tomorrow has in store. I hope to see you out there….!!!! If you’re not as fortunate to be here…. definitely stop back by! Buenas noches ~
