Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, September 23, 2019

Brian Scott

Hey there amigos!!! Well, today we had a bit of a nice break from the monotanty of onshore madness and things were looking very good when I arrived at the beach early this morning. However todays weather moods were all over the place and in every direction… but one thing is for sure…. the surfing was on FIRE!

Brian Scott

One of the best things to see back in the mix was real barrels!

Brian Scott

Early morning Gorillas in the mist sunlight was going off as well!

Brian Scott

But the real reason I was out there so early this AM… I can honestly say & am grateful for the continued work in shooting and hanging with my good friends Callahan AKA “Big Natural”….

Brian Scott

Matt the “Dolphin Boy”….

Brian Scott

Shane “Kenzies Dad”…..

Brian Scott

& Pierce the Infamous “Tangy Tuna”

Brian Scott

It wouldn’t be a proper showdown like we’ve had in over a week of good surfing conditions, without giving some props to the real local legend talent here that peep these waves every single morning like clockwork… Señor Buzz! Who will pull in any chance he gets!

Brian Scott

The Groovy and super multitalented Ricky Rooooooooz-Amenti!

Brian Scott

And Late drop in affection-ado, Johnny Gillem. These dudes keep the stoke burning every single day of their lives!!!!!!!!

Brian Scott

This has got to be the ugliest A-FRAME EVER!!! And as we know it… A-Frames are usually really purdy!

Brian Scott

Cal getting all “Cat-back” with how this barrel is throwing over his spinal curvature. What a really weird looking barrel Eh?

Brian Scott

Like I mentioned earlier, the moods of todays waves were all over the place.

Brian Scott

Matty deep inside, where not many people have been for a while here.

Brian Scott

Tangy Tuna getting all saucy on an early morning NUG!

Brian Scott

But that’s because he’s not only tart, but sweet! Oh and he can throw some serious buckets on his man carves!

Brian Scott

Shane laying into a super sick bottom turn on this glassy AM gem.

Brian Scott

Then following through with a nice wrap-a-round that obviously shows his eyes are still on the final prize.

Brian Scott

Pierce making a real mess out of something even more chaotic.

Brian Scott

BIG Natural was on FIRE all day today!!!

Brian Scott

See… I’m not lying!!

Brian Scott

If you had to take a second look at this image and your first thought was it’s a whale, you were correct. It’s a whale. A really BIG ONE - far away!

Brian Scott

Today was for lack of a better term, a marathon of sessions. But rightfully so, being we had the best waves that we’ve seen for over a week now. Biggy Smalls, with a not so small boost, considering he’s 6’4” and 245.

Brian Scott

Tangy Tuna lofting a little airtime as well.

Brian Scott

After the early morning squall/rains, the on-shores followed, but with a eery vengeance; and with it came heaving, chunky shabby like waves.

Brian Scott

If there were one word to describe these guy’s affection for surfing… it would have to be Tubos! Lots and and lots of tubos. No matter the conditions.

Brian Scott

You know who surfs the windiest, stormiest, crappiest onshore conditions the best in the world… hands down??? Floridans, that’s who!!!

Brian Scott

Mateo proving my latter statement even more so!

Brian Scott

Callahan, AKA “Big Natural” closing out one of my best and favorite days of the season here as well as one of my favorite surf reports I’ve had the pleasure of posting in a while.

Brian Scott

Many Thanks to these guys, for always having me be a part of their curriculum here. Until next time amigos!!!!! YEWWWWWW ~
