Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, September 09, 2017

Brian Scott

Hey there, welcome back for the Saturday surf report. You guessed it, we had total onshore waves all day. Still with some pretty sunny sky’s though, so wasn’t a complete wash. Lets check out who made it a fun day regardless of direction of the winds.

Brian Scott

Ooooof, that still pretty rough. At least for me, I am supposed be creating a nice surf report for all of you fine people to see here today.

Brian Scott

Welllllll, that’s another option. I guess when the surf is bad, it’s a really good thing we have a beautiful beach club with a pool to relax in, while Junio serves up some killer daytime concoctions behind the beach bar for you (virgin of course if you’re under 21).

Brian Scott

Beautiful weather! Maybe skim boarding will have to suffice the next few days??

Brian Scott

With not that many people wanting to take to the sand bars all to themselves, I think I counted 2 people out. I decided to head up the way to the reef to see if anything was going on up there.

Brian Scott

Believe it or not there were some fun little corners! This spot always delivers when everywhere else fails. Not bad, having a backup surf spot at the beach you live at and especially for those who come to visit. It’s like scoring that one open Chinese eatery that’s the only restaurant open on Christmas day.

Brian Scott

I guess If that last sentiment were true, then this would be this guys fortune cookie for the day!!

Brian Scott

One thing is for certain, I Absolutely Love the water color whenever we have onshore winds. If I’m being honestly optimistic.

Brian Scott

Today was also a great day for this. Just a nice beach bike ride with the winds in your face. I wonder though what Kenny’s eyeballing out there….?

Brian Scott

Ahhhhh, YESSSS Kenny, that is a pretty nice corner right there!! And beautiful water color too I might add!

Brian Scott

Did you know we have our own Nica version of the “Beatles” Abbey road. Our’s just happens to be a little more special since it’s chica surfers, barefoot on sand not pavement, rocking some soft tops and the fourth member has four legs and is named Tahoe, instead of Ringo.

Brian Scott

For not having that much swell, I’d say there were some well overhead sets.

Brian Scott

Looked like this thing really wanted to barrel too!

Brian Scott

The people have the most fun are the best surfers out there on any given day. How cute is this micro gremmy??

Brian Scott

Eliana has been getting out there a bunch and it shows, which has got to make her mama and papa so proud.

Brian Scott

I mean, check out that form, stance and look of determination down the line. Way to Go Eliana!! You’re gonna be on one of them podiums here in a Local Nica contest soon if you keep this up chica!

Brian Scott

There is noting better than seeing groms out there doing their thing on the days like this when we all need to remember that, it IS all about having fun! Maya in the FunZone!

Brian Scott

The other of the three amigas, Sara was utilizing every bit of the onshore push to help get into these wave. These are actually the best days for learning to how to surf. All while doing it with lots of giggles and the company of a couple of your BFF’s; without a care in the world.

Brian Scott

Lilah is definitely on the pint size of the gremmys charging out there today, but make no doubt, I watched her ride wave after wave while she was being pushed in by her super cool dad Adam (out the back keeping a keen eye on his little tadpole-minnow) She showed no signs of fear while sitting out the back when some proper 4-5 footers rolled through.

Brian Scott

Eliana stoked for her amiga Maya taking it all the way in to the beach.

You usually don’t get to see too often the views opposite of the ocean here, since we’re here to properly give you all a surf report, but here’s one of the original group of condos erected here back in the get go of when Hacienda Iguana started. I actually used to come stay here back in early 2000’s before finally moving down. Needless to say, they’re still one of my favorite places to post up on occasion and hang when I’m shooting with good fiends and or clients.

So that’s my report for the day. Cheer up Mr. Zac, the offshore’s will be back… soon!!! Btw I got that 150 yard right you got all the way to beach you were getting out on from this photo. Sick one dude! Tomorrow’s Sunday and most of us will be glued in Web and TV land waiting to have found out the extent of the damage by Irma. Thoughts and prayers are still pouring out to our friends and family who are stuck or had no choice except to stay and stick it out as she makes landfall though the Keys and Flordia tonight and tomorrow.  Godspeed people!~  !Abrazos y besos!!!
