Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, September 05, 2018

Javier Baldovinos

Hey everyone, welcome to Hump Day from playa Santana. The swell finally arrived during the morning session. Check it out!

Javier Baldovinos

With this new pulse everybody was having fun this morning. You could be way out waiting for the bombs or just stay closer and ride the insiders.

Javier Baldovinos

The important thing is that everyone was catching waves… fun size waves.

Javier Baldovinos

Just ask this guy, getting a full cover on this right (he almost made it out though so, don’t expect a third photo on this two-photo sequence! :)

Javier Baldovinos

Even though it was bigger it wasn’t that good… I know, we are a bunch of spoil surfers but you have to understand that it is hard not to complain when it’s been more than 4 days with small waves.

Javier Baldovinos

Maybe this conditions are just because the swell hasn’t fully arrived yet… hopefully tomorrow this surfer (and me!) will have full-on barrels for a few hours here.

Javier Baldovinos

Well, if there are no barrels, there were still plenty of space to work on.

Javier Baldovinos

You could hit the accelerator at the beginning of the ride.

Javier Baldovinos

Then, after gaining enough speed, you could change direction on a dime and throw a bucket of water behind you.

Javier Baldovinos

Or throw a big spray all around you.

Javier Baldovinos

And finished the ride hitting the lip right before it closed out.

Javier Baldovinos

How about finishing the wave with a kinda-new aerial?

Javier Baldovinos

A few guys were catching the fast rights towards the north of the beach, it wasn’t that good over there either but they had them all for themselves!

Javier Baldovinos

We all know that you care about us (spoiled surfers) that want to share the Nicaraguan waves with you.

Javier Baldovinos

Hopefully tomorrow the conditions will improve for the benefit of all of us, you know, nobody wants a bunch of surfers complaining about their tropical, warm water, year-round offshore winds surfing conditions. See you tomorrow!
