Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, September 01, 2009

Hi folks, today we went to the beach in the morning hoping to catch some waves.  The lineup was not crowded at all, so it was pretty easy to ride a few small but fun waves on the longboard.  It was running about knee to waist high on sets, the wind was nice offshore and the water was warm and clear.  Check it out!!!

As we said before, there were a couple longboarders out.  Here we have one of them picking up a nice left hander.

The waves have been pretty small lately, so the locals decided to get some work done.  Check out Kike working hard on his place.

There were not many shortboarders out because the waves were not that big.  This unknown rider had a few good ones by himself.

The water was crystal clear so a few guys jumped out in the water.  Hopefully you guys can catch some fish for dinner!

We had some nice and clean waves coming through.  Check out this guy drifting one of the better ones.  Nice form, uh!

What a beautiful butterfly!!!

Even a more beautiful butterfly.  The big different is “The first one fly and the second one swim and floats.  Please check back tomorrow.

Making it back to SJDS just before sunset, Hot Carl shows off two nice sized Roosterfish.  HC slayed the beasts with his new speargun.  We also ran across 4 giant whales and tried to jump in the water to see them up close.  The biggest one was at least 30' long.  They are deceivingly fast and we never got within sight underwater.  We were right next to them in the boat for a while so that was cool.  Looks like small waves for the next several days so fishing is in order!
