Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, August 30, 2022

Brian Scott

Happy sunny and actually quite the glassy Tuesday we had today! With the swell winding down until our next pulse (which is due later this week), I think the decision - based on a couple friends personal intel, to move it on up north a little ways was actually a pretty good call. Peep on in and see for yourself.

Clean lines, clean skies, and minimal people…. all good things when combining the factor for a good surf session.

Definitely well overhead on some of the sets, compared to the beach break down south.

NMRK, aka the DUDE! Is like surfing’s version of the NSA. He’s got eyes and ears on everything “SURF”. jaja ;)

Brian Scott

His compadre John followed suit and scored with the very very small crowd that took notice of the proper times, tides and low wind factor window for this particular spot today!

Brian Scott

Two potential lookers that might have seen the goods, but I think they were way too far down the beach to see the real gold!

This unknown random dude was lighting up the rights just as the sunlight was lighting him up. Like poetry in motion!

When that sun comes out to play, it might not be that big of a deal for the surfers, but for us photographers, it means ALL the difference between a well lit pic and ahhh…. well not so well lit pic, which usually equals hitting the cutting room floor when editing.

Floaters aren’t just for men. At least not anymore. Women (a lot of pro women - Layne Beachley, Lisa Andersen, Rochelle Ballard, Keala Kennelly, just to name a few who have been treading the way for womens surfing for over a few decades now, certainly know a thing or two about above the lip and inside the barrel surfing. And they all know it very well!

Brian Scott

John taking it all the way into inside… as in all the way inside!

But always watch out for that dry reef as you practically jump off or think you’re jumping off onto the safety of the somewhat soft sand.

It was a good day, even if the surf wasn’t that big. The sun was out, the people are always stoked and there were super fun long waves to be ridden. How can anyone complain. I’ll see ya’ll mañana for the Wednesday surf report amigos ~
