Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, August 24, 2018

Brian Scott

Hey there surf fans! Bienvenido a las olas de hoy. Today was still in the small, fun zone, but I want to emphasize FUN!

Brian Scott

Late morning looked to be the time for the right tide and when to shoot.

Brian Scott

The lighting was great and the waves were super fun with everyone out enjoying this beautiful Friday.

Brian Scott

Like this amigo here.

Brian Scott

I will have to say, though, it was a “grom” filled session.

Brian Scott

Kiddos, everywhere taking over.

Brian Scott

Like Maxi here, the youngest of the young guns of the Resano crew.

Brian Scott

Middle ripper, Candi, following closely to her bigger sisters foot steps.

Brian Scott

Yet still carving out her own unique style in her own way.

Brian Scott

Valen, the oldest of the magnificent trio…. as you can surely see… these kids have a very bright future ahead of them.

Brian Scott

Check out that form, light years ahead of the learning curve. Charging really big waves at Outer Reef will also help solidify her spot in the surfing elite, soon enough.

Brian Scott

The local PC kids were holding it down, pretty darn fine as well.

Brian Scott

Jeison, seems like he improves daily. The only thing holding most potential surfing kids here is limited access to a surfboard. Imagine the same story for the undiscovered “Dane Reynolds” of Nicaragua. I know there are a few similar stories to be found here. Diamonds in the rough.

Brian Scott

The bigger groms were out showing the up and comers how to stick with it!

Brian Scott

This guy must have seen every Rob Machado video part ever made… his style is uncanny.

Brian Scott

Jeison sending the Northern Ticas some early rains.

Brian Scott

Pretty rad to see boys and girls out there surfing stylistically (power for power) the same out there!

Brian Scott

You know they say, never turn your back on the ocean. This is also a proper and long lived tradition from Hawaiian surfing royalty to show respect for the waves you are blessed to ride. E hele me ka pu’olo, Aloha ʻOe ~
