Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, August 19, 2007

Hello folks and welcome to the Sunday Surf Report from Southern Nicaragua. We've got some large sets, lingering through the lineup today so we went out to try and get a couple. It's not quite as big as yesterday, but it's still solid double overhead on the set waves. This is Capt. Moss, grabbing one of the best waves of the day...as usual.

On a day when most folks were sizing up their boards to the 7-0+ range, Chris Ward showed up on a 5-8 Quad and although it was a little hard for him to catch the set waves, he set a new standard for what is possible when you aren't afraid to air-drop everything. Here he is with a nice gaff on the inners.

Oliver Solis was out charging again. Here he is on another nice set wave and not even knowing that he's lucky to be alive after yesterday!

Check it out - Jimmy from Surfari Charters made it out today and grabbed a couple of nice ones. Now that he's fully recovered from the cross-sectional vertebrate replacement therapy, we expect to see more of him out here.

Here's another shot of the patented "Muy Caliente Carve"- rarely captured on film.  In his post session interview, an elated Carlos Caliente exclaimed "There's nothing like the feeling of laying down some rail on your 7-6!"  We couldn't agree more Caliente.

Carlos Caliente was back in the action again. Here he is setting up for the inside-glory-closeout section.

Yes, I know we have lots of bottom turn shots and you're probably wondering "doesn't anybody ever get Shacked?" Of course we do! This is me behind the curtain. Ha, OK, it's not me...It's Capt. Moss.

OK, this one really is me. We'd like to give it up for Erin at EBOPhotos and Surfari Charters for providing these sick photos today. It's not easy sitting in the channel and shooting from the boat and these guys got it done! It's much appreciated you guys (and girls)!
