Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, August 17, 2022

Brian Scott

Waaaaalloping Wednesday! Wowzers. . . if you think yesterdays waves were impressive, then you’ve gotta checkout todays surf report!!! Thanks to our wonderful (NOT) super reliable Wifi has been off and on all day, which is why I am just now getting the pics up. Super frustrating to say the least!!! (if you’ve been down here enough times you know what I’m referring to), but I ended up getting out there somewhat early again today and the waves were crackin’. . . just absolutely on FIRE! I’d say even better than yesterday. Come on in and check out what I’m talking about!

Brian Scott

You all know this perch or viewpoint pretty well by now I think. So with that said, you know how big it was this AM, if you’ve seen all the other reports showing the lineup from this spot before.

Brian Scott

Dropping in from the sky. The straight on shot never gives you the proper size, feeling or actual justifiable steepness to a take off like this, but you know this guy’s looking down a solid wave face and there’s no turning back now!

Brian Scott

See, here’s a more 3 dimensional angle, slightly more looking into the barrel and showing the realistic size.

Brian Scott

And if you know what this is, then you know it was solid out there today and some bomb sets were pushing through and detonating on this world class beach break!

Brian Scott

I have so many insane sequences from today, you guys and gals will be pleasantly surprised since I’ve added a few on here for todays report. This guys double barrel, probably was the sickest one tho!

Brian Scott

There were actually three attempts at this wave. This unknown kid was the last on the shoulder and he ended up scoring…. well, keep scrolling and you’ll see!

Brian Scott

It’s a really really long sequence so I had to shorten it down quite a bit, but after that first big section, he came out and check stalled setting it up for cover up numero dos!

Brian Scott

First the bottom turn letting that next section do its heaving thing….

Brian Scott

And then, booooom, right back in tube-town!

Brian Scott

Getting covered up for quite a good long while too.

Brian Scott

Super sick wave, but look at all the mountains of water and peaks moving around out the back!

Brian Scott

The conditions, a solid 10!!!! Just as this guy slides right into this super glassy and perfectly tapering right.

Brian Scott

The lefts were pretty ok too, but I think the rights (for the most part were the call). Chris on his forehand, LOVES pulling into ANYTHING!!!

Brian Scott

Today was so incredible, there was even a huge mama whale and her baby out there flipping out!

Brian Scott

The first big splash I saw was so big, that’s what caught my attention. Everyone, surfers, seas life all having fun on this Magical Wednesday!

Brian Scott

Ok, after seeing this again, I will have to say, the lefts were pretty on par with the rights. I think the rights were maybe a little more square and heavy, but heck, would you be complaining if you were surfing this today?????

Brian Scott

Here’s another sequence for all you fan favorites! Dude pulling into a super fast and screaming right.

Brian Scott

Buddy got so deep on this one, I think I started humming an Ice Cube song….. Jajaja!!!

Brian Scott

Uhhhh Ohhhh!!! If you look close, like REALLY close, you can just barely see the tip of his nose on the right. Watchu think. . . U think he made it out???

Brian Scott

Yeah buddy…. doggy dooring that thing like a PRO!

Brian Scott

Oki, how about one more little mini sequence for good measure to exposé todays amazing waves. Oscar on a super sick left!

Brian Scott

Once you see Oscar, pretty much disappear, like here.

Brian Scott

You can pretty much aways count, or even put some money down that’ll he’ll come flying out! Yewwwww Oscar!!! Scoring some super fun waves today right in your backyard & your favorite wave in Nicaragua!

Brian Scott

Well, since it’s technically my Friday. . I’m gonna go out with a little message for all you amazing people and friends out there who always so kindly come up to me and thank me personally for the reports that I do when you’re down here (for those of you I’ve known for years and also for those of you who come up and ask, “are you Brian Scott, as in the one who does some of the reports for NSR”? I just want to say, Muchísimas gracias for always coming up to me and saying such nice and wonderful things! It truly means a lot more than you’ll ever really know and secondly, looking at my two double image parting shot here of two of my close friends here in Hacienda Iguana, life is truly a blessing! Enjoy every single day. Hug a friend, hug a family member hug anyone who you’re thankful for, for them being in your life. As life is short and we all should spend more time appreciating everything positive that we all have! With that, I bid you adieu! Aloha y Saludos ~
