Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, August 10, 2006

Still in Puerto Escondido - the waves have backed off a little today (that's a good thing at this thumping beach break). It's still solid overhead and hollow though - check out the scene from the beach.

We met a cool guy from Serbia who offered to shoot some shots of Hot Carl and I (right on Jermiej!). This is Hot Carl pulling into one of the many classic PE barrels.

This is me - driving, driving, driving, shutdown. Can't make it out of all of them. Really, with the exception of the crowd, it doesn't get much more fun than this.

Speaking of fun - today marks Hot Carl's last day in the Boogie Board contest. Surprisingly, he managed to take down some of the biggest names in the sport on the way to the semi-finals. People like Kimo "drop knee" Ka'holoeaa from Hawaii and local legend, Nacho "360" Vasquez. Such a feat is unheard of in the Boogie world and people all around were asking "Who is this Hot Carl?". So, we left amidst a bit of controversy - If you ask me, HC should have advanced - and shunning the consolation round and certain notariety in the Boogie world. The only vow from Hot Carl was that he would "be back". Good stuff my friend! I hope to be there with you.

It's still fun out there, we have chest high on sets and the wind is blowing offshore. Check it out.

It's small but these guy had really fun. Here is Eli with a nice spray.
