Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, August 03, 2019

Brian Scott

Welcome back for another fun day at the beach here in beautiful southern Nicaragua. Waves were in the chest high range with slight offshore winds and aqua blue water in the early AM. Come on in and check it out!

Brian Scott

The morning light wasn’t too shabby either. Matter a fact it was gorgeous out! Definitely one of my favorite times of the day for shooting.

Brian Scott

Here’s our heavy morning commute traffic. Yup, everyone else was still sleeping, or just making their coffee.

Brian Scott

There are two people here who are synonymous with the phrase “dawn patrol”, Buzzy here cranking one off the bottom is one of them…

Brian Scott

and his amigo John Gillem is the other. These guys are at it early pretty much every single day… and for good reason. The early birds do get the best waves!

Brian Scott

Surfing actually requires quite a bit of high capacity thinking when you’re confronted with a couple options in a short amount of time when taking and making a wave. Barry, obviously here choosing wisely, but paying the price for such a correct decision. The view baby… it’s all about that VIEW!!!!

Brian Scott

Some overhead sets. Sure!

Brian Scott

Brevin has been tearing these waves to pieces every day. Stoked I got a chance to make his acquaintance this morning. It’s always good to put a name with a face when that person seeing ripping like this here.

Brian Scott

If you pulled up to this in the AM at your local surf break…. what would be your thoughts exactly? Mehhh, ya bro, it’s aight. Or Sh!ts cracking, it’s glassy and light offshore, throw on your favorite bordies and be out there or wait until 10 o’clock after a decent all you can eat breakfast at IHop? I think I know the correct answer.

Brian Scott

Eli gonna be going home to Ecuador with Nica sand still in his hair…. or at least some salty goodness on his skin for the flight home on Avianca.

Brian Scott

Always a pleasure to see Shine AKA the Shining Lion here in Nica-Land. Bienvenido hermano, my peaceful Ninja brother.

Brian Scott

Can I just go back to slide number 9 and see if you wanna reevaluate your answer to my question?

Brian Scott

Whoever get’s tired of a wave that has barrels. I think no-one!

Brian Scott

and if you come here…. there’s a chance you can get barrels. Just a slight chance.

Brian Scott

We also have lumps and bumps that come from the deep water out in the open ocean. Today was pretty average, so you can imagine when things do light up, these lumps and bumps get pretty NUTS!!

Brian Scott

And images (or waves rather) like this grow substantially.

Brian Scott

Crack kills… of course, it’s scientifically been proven. But Sick barrels extend your life… so we’re at a cross roads here. Does it all equal itself out???

Brian Scott

I’ve gotta give the parting surfing shot and a MEGA HUGE shoutout to my amigo Marcelo, as this is the last wave he is surfing as a single dude! He had the ultimate pleasure of marrying his best friend today and is partying his A$$ off right now at one of the best parties maybe to ever be thrown here in Hacienda Iguana. Felicidades hermano!!!!!!

Brian Scott
