Nicaragua Surf Report for Sunday, July 29, 2018

Brian Scott

Happy Sunday small wave Funday! It’s XS today for surfing, but the report is, as always, large and in charge as we continue to bring you surf shots, no matter the size, shape, or form every single day. Go grab your favorite L-board and lets go play!

Brian Scott

Clean conditions as usual. Buttery glassy small tapered waves with minimal slight offshore breeze. You in?

Brian Scott

With only a handful of surfers out (I think some people might still be sleeping it off after the big Hotel Brio Party last night) those who were diligent, reaped the best rewards for an early morning start on a Sunday.

River-mouth drainers if you’re a hamster.

Barry is a surfing machine… and size, time of day, rain or shine will never hinder him from just grabbing a board and GOING!

Brian Scott

Now if I were to say, photoshop this guy out the picture, you could easily imagine by looking at this wave alone, that it could be like a 10 foot perfect left. OR it could look like a 10 foot perfect left with a Giant 25 foot surfer riding it. It’s all about imagination.

Brian Scott

If the latter were true, then this would be over a 50 foot spray.

Brian Scott

There are so many things we don’t see in surf photos, since most shots are pulled back far enough to where we miss the some of the best parts.

Brian Scott

Like this zoomed in close up of the same photo. hahah… so much going on, I especially like the facial expressions.

Brian Scott

Just by looking at the water color here, I’m thinking it might be the perfect time to get out there on the open ocean for some fishing maybe? Look how clear it is.

This is how 97% of the entire coast in Nicaragua looks like right now. Vacio!

Brian Scott

Welcome to the 3%. Although it helps we have the best wave in all of Nicaragua.

Brian Scott

How many of you shuffle your feet when entering, from habit of where you might be from? Don’t don’t feel weird. We have a shuffle season here too.

Brian Scott

Here’s a funny little story regarding those pesky sea floor monsters that like to stab our “pies” (feet) I was surfing this exact same spot a couple years back and I looked down and saw (no joking) what must have been a group of about 100 sting rays below me. It was beautiful, but I wasn’t getting off my board anywhere near there. haha

Small and simple Nicaragua perfection. One of the countries many great qualities, aside from it’s amazing people.

Peter with his Cali Cruising Cadillac Classic (perfect for days like today). BIG Pimpin’ patrón!
