Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, July 24, 2021

Brian Scott

Good day Amigos! Well is was a really wet Saturday. Raining most of the night and well into the really late morning., I was weary of how or when I was going to be able to get down to the playa today to shoot. But alas, the rained had stopped for a little while and everyone who was probably waiting much like me went down to the surf for an actually nice little window of surf! Check it out!

Brian Scott

Chris along with everyone else, stoked for the rain to finally stop so it could turn into an actual “Beach Day”.

Brian Scott

Rick was more than likely already out there long before the rain stopped pouring down. But unlike me and having camera gear that doesn’t really mix well with wet weather conditions, Ricky will always surf surf, rain or shine!

Brian Scott

There was a decent amount of people out in the water too. Here’s Number 39.

Brian Scott

I think I can honestly say this season has seen some of the best surfing (in general) for an overall season, so far.  May through now has seen top notch surfing super consistently just about every week with every newcomer. I just wonder how much of it had to do with how sick our reports showed how sick it was last season with nobody here, and how frothed out everyones been to get back to one of their favorite surf destinations. Sick floater by this unrecognizable ripper!

Brian Scott

Derek is one of my close amigos who I worked with A LOT all of last season while were all landlocked here in Nicaragua. However, I can’t really use he term “landlocked” as he was out in the water way much more time than he was on land.

Brian Scott

Also a lot of people making up for lost cover up time, I’m sure. Well, they’ve all come to one of the best places for their redemption for lack of tube time for almost an entire year.

Brian Scott

Kai (in the previous shot) coming out of that barrel, looking like about 80% of the crowd out there today filled with joy form whatever airport they came from to get here.

Brian Scott

The kids have been ripping had too!

Brian Scott

Not showing any signs of slowing down at all, regardless of any economic setbacks. The groms are the future and they’re all looking good for the future of surfing.

Brian Scott

The surf didn’t look like this while it was low tide and raining all morning.

Brian Scott

So it was a nice surprise to see not only really good swell on the rise out there, but nice conditions to boot!

Brian Scott

One of the many lady surfers out there pushing the pressure of performance surfing equally hard as the boys.

Brian Scott

I like this shot because this hombre isn’t quite covered up completely (yet) but you get a pretty good idea of what kind fo view this dude’s getting in that green cylinder.

Brian Scott

The rotation of surfers coming and going looked like a on ramp and off ramp to a mini highway, but whether you were coming or going, you couldn’t help but stop and look at the ones who were out there caching the best waves of each good set that came through.

Brian Scott

Check out this sick sequence of (I think may have been the best wave of the day, minus one little detail).

Brian Scott

This was by far the biggest set of the day, that I saw while I was out there shooting.

Brian Scott

And right about this time, it started to sprinkle, which ended up turning into more rain, so I was ready to pack it up and call it a day as I had well over 2K shots in sick sequences already. But how sick is this guys backside barrel???

Brian Scott

HOOOOOO….. that guy got so deep packed into that thing, I knew if he was coming of this after seeing this thing spit, this wave was going to be a for sure solid 10!!!!!!

Brian Scott

My hopes as well as every other single person on the beach watching this wave was literally on the edge of their seats!

Brian Scott

But, as much as I saw and watched this guy drive through this beast, it just wasn’t his day. HOWEVER, I could feel the spit this thing threw pretty much from where I was standing it was that hard! I’m guessing the compression of all that wind blew him right off his board. But how rad was that King Viper!?!?!!

Brian Scott

Definitely got his attention! Haha!!

Brian Scott

Alight my surf aficionados’ let’s hope the sun comes back out mañana and this new swell is pumping!

C ya out there ~
